We will not be making any claims that Vitamark products cure, treat or prevent any diseases. We are simply educating you to the amazing impact that the ingredients in CellRich have on your health.
TM: Meme, you know me I always like to start off by seeing if anyone has a testimonial to share. Because of the length of the call tonight I'm going to hold the testimonials to the end of the call.
MG: OK , Tommy, let's just get going with that information on CellRich.
TM: Before we talk about CellRich and its free radical scavenging abilities as an antioxidant, I better tell you what free radicals are and how antioxidants address them. Oxygen is necessary for all living things. However, as the body creates energy at the cellular level, oxygen is metabolized, changing its structure. During metabolization, Oxygen molecules lose an electron and are therefore unpaired, becoming what are called free radicals. Free radicals have the ability to bind to and destroy other cells; thus, becoming what we call highly reactive. This combination of oxygen with another substance is what is called oxidation and it is the major source of free radical damage in the body. Some of the more destructive oxygen radicals are hydroxyl, superoxide, and hydrogen peroxide.
MG: Tommy, I understand that while the majority of free radicals are produced in the body, they can also be derived from the environment, which increases the free radical load in the body. Sources of external free radicals include food additives and preservatives, fried and barbecued foods, rancid fats, cigarette smoke, air pollutants, cleaners, radiation, even sunlight.
TM: Yes, and its important to know that free radicals have been linked to many age-related diseases. These include cancer, heart attack, stroke, rheumatoid arthritis, cataracts, asthma, and Alzheimers disease.*
MG: Knowing the damage that free radicals can do; its good to know that while we all produce free radicals, we also have naturally occurring antioxidants, such as glutathione and superoxide dismutase, that fight free radicals and protect us from age-related diseases. However, the number of antioxidants we produce diminishes as we age, and we have so many free radicals to contend with that our own supply often isnt enough.
TM: Thats why its good to have a product with antioxidant properties like CellRich. CellRich has the proven ability of the eight highlighted antioxidant compounds discussed belowgreen tea extract, grape seed extract, N-acetylcysteine, alphalipoic acid, selenium, quercitin, gamma oryzanol and turmeric, in addition to the inclusion of Vitamins A,C and E, citrus bioflavanoids, bromelaine and plant trace mineralsall to provide you the best antioxidant supplementation available.* These components not only work individually but also synergistically in antioxidant cycling, the term that describes how antioxidants work together for an enhanced, combined effect.
MG: The first ingredient is the ever popular Green Tea; perhaps better known for its weight loss fame!
TM:You are right, Meme, Green Tea does assist with weight management, as well as functioning as a potent antioxidant.* Green tea, unlike black tea, is made from leaves that are not fermented before they are dried. The primary constituents in green tea thought to provide the most health benefits are the polyphenols.* In fact, our Green Tea is listed as Polyphenol Extract on the CellRich label. Members of the flavonoid family, polyphenols are catechins made of several ringlike structures. Four are of particular interest: epicatechin, epigallocatechin, epicatechin gallate, and epigallocatechin gallate, the most potent.
In laboratory studies presented at a September 1997 meeting of the American Chemical Society, epigallocatechin gallate proved to be 100 times more effective at neutralizing free radicals than vitamin C and 25 times more effective than vitamin E.*
Research does suggest that this antioxidant power may translate into helping to maintain immunity.* In animal studies conducted in Japan in the early 1990s, green tea polyphenols increased activation of macrophages, B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, and natural killer cells.* All of these are white blood cells.
MG: I also understand that there are studies to indicate that green tea also helps maintain blood pressure and cholesterol levels that are in the normal range, helps with major immune challenges, and helps reduce the formation of dental plaque.* A recent study affirms that green tea is helpful with bone mineralization and therefore osteoporosis (Hegarty 2000)*.
TM:Green tea also contains oligomers of proanthocyanidins (OPCs), also in the flavonoid family, that have been shown to have positive effects on blood vessels (Ursini et al. 1999, Sato et al. 1999).*
TM: I would next like to talk about Grape Seed Extract. Like green tea, grape seeds contain the powerful antioxidant OPCs( you will notice that the proanthocyanidin(OPC) content of the grape seed extract in CellRich is 95% ). Some studies indicate that OPCs are 20 times more powerful than vitamin C and 50 times more powerful than vitamin E.* The two most common sources of OPCs are white pine bark and grape seed. Grape seeds contain 7 to 15 percent more OPCs than white pine bark and can be more potent (Sterling 2000).*
In a review of the benefits of the OPCs found in grape seed extract, one study notes that the antioxidant activity of OPCs is generally credited for their other health benefits (Bombardelli and Morazzoni 1995).* The authors note that these include an antimutagenic effect; that is, they inhibit the mutation of DNA.* The authors point out that chronic degenerative diseases are believed to be a result of environmental mutagens (substances that cause mutation).* OPCs may be able to counter these mutagens.*
OPCs also have cosmetic value. They protect collagen and elastin, which are an important part of the makeup of skin.* It is the interlacing of collagen and elastin that gives skin its strength, elasticity, and smoothness.* When these two substances are damaged and the skin loses elasticity, the result can be wrinkles.* OPCs help restore damaged collagen and elastin and protect them against further damage.*
MG: The next illustrious ingredient is N-acetylcysteine. You may recognize it from Vita One and Vita-Che.
Although little known, N-acetylcysteine (NAC) is a powerful antioxidant and a powerful tool in maintaining immunity.* It has been used since the 1960s as a mucolyticthat is, a substance that breaks up mucus, especially in lung tissue.* It also has a positive effect on toxic chemical and drug reactions, and has been used for years in hospital emergency rooms to counteract acetaminophen poisoning.*
TM: Yes, and, clinical trials in Europe have indicated that NAC may also offer protection against the flulike symptoms.* Other research indicates that it may enhance the production of human T cells, white blood cells with various immunity functions.* NAC is metabolized into compounds that can stimulate glutathione synthesis.* The body produces glutathione, one of its most important and powerful antioxidants, to help it deal with the free radicals generated as part of its own metabolism.*
MG: Then, there is Alpha-lipoic acid. Classified as an antioxidant, it can scavenge free radicals intracellularly and extracellularly.* It is both fat- and water-soluble, which means that it can access all parts of our cells.*
TM: Yes, numerous clinical trials have shown that supplementing with alpha-lipoic acid is beneficial in moderating blood sugar concentrations, symptoms of cardiovascular ailments, blurred vision, and liver complication (Packer 1995).*
Children treated with alpha-lipoic acid alone or in combination with vitamin E showed normalized organ function and less oxidative damage following radiation exposure in the Chernobyl incident (Korkina et. al 1993).* Current research indicates that alpha-lipoic supplementation may help increase human T lymphocytes.*
Alpha lipoic acid (a.k.a. lipoate, thioctic acid, alpha-lipoic acid) is an antioxidant and a cofactor in the body's production of energy.* It has vitamin-like roles in the body.*
MG: I uderstand that alpha lipoic acid is considered the universal antioxidant. Why is that?
TM: Once inside cells, alpha lipoic acid is converted to its more potent form, dihydrolipoic acid. Alpha lipoic acid is unique in that, like Vitamin C, it is effective as an antioxidant in water-based phases such as blood; yet as dihydrolipoic acid, it is also effective in protecting fatty tissues and membranes, a role it shares with Vitamin E. Thus, alpha lipoic acid and dihydrolipoic acid function together as a universal antioxidant, meaning an antioxidant that quenches free radicals in both lipid and water-soluble portions of tissues and cells.
Alpha lipoic acid and dihydrolipoic acid are extremely powerful quenchers of hydroxyl, singlet-oxygen, peroxynitrite and other free radicals. Smog and many other sources of environmental toxins either create or lead to the creation of free radicals in the body. It enhances the antioxidant potency of other antioxidants (e.g. Vitamins C and E) in both the water-based and lipid portions of the cells.
Alpha lipoic acid directly recycles Vitamin C and indirectly recycles Vitamin E. This ability is both unique and highly sufficient.
Synergistically interacts with other antioxidants to regenerate both Vitamins C and E and maintain the proper ratio of reduced-to-oxidized Co-Q10 in the mitochondria. Therefore, alpha lipoic acid can buffer periodic deficiencies in these and other antioxidants due to improper diet and/or elevated stress.*
MG: In addition to all of the components discussed so far, CellRich also contains Selenium.
TM: Selenium is an antioxidant mineral.* It works together with antioxidant enzymes to fight free radicals.* Selenium activates the antioxidant enzyme glutathione peroxidase, which recycles glutathione.* Selenium improves white blood cell proliferation, and a selenium deficiency will result in a depressed immune system.* Selenium is reported to mimic the blood sugar regulatory functions of insulin in laboratory studies and to play a role in reducing the oxidative stress associated with diabetes.* Selenium may also protect against cancers and cardiovascular disease by increasing HDL cholesterol levels.* **
**Selenium may reduce the risk of certain cancers. Some scientific evidence suggests that consumption of selenium may reduce the risk of certain forms of cancer. However, the FDA has determined that this evidence is limited and not conclusive.
MG: Then there is Quercetin. Quercetin is known as a potent antioxidant that helps fight free radicals that can cause cellular damage. Primary sources of quercetin are blueberries, red onions, apples and spinach.
TM: Quercetin is part of the coloring found in the skins of apples and red onions. It is isolated and sold as a nutritional supplement. Quercetin is a powerful anti-oxidant.* It is also a natural anti-histamine, and anti-inflammatory.* Research shows that quercetin may help to support the immune system.* Quercetin's anti-histamine action may help to relieve allergic symptoms and major respiratory symptoms.* The anti-inflammatory properties may help to reduce discomfort from poor health challenges such as joint concerns.* Men who are concerned about their prostate would also benefit from quercetin.* Quercetin may also help reduce symptoms like fatigue, mood variations and anxiety.*
MG: I understand it also contains Gamma Oryzanol from Rice Bran Oil.
TM: Yes and research showed an increased immune response in mice consuming rice bran oil.*?Eur J Nutr. 2005 Feb 22; Polyunsaturated fatty acids play a key role in a number of biological functions.* Rice bran oil is rich in linoleic acid, an essential n-6 fatty acid. n-6 fatty acids are said to have proinflammatory effects as a result of an increase in n-6 fatty acidderived eicosanoids.* Rice bran oil is also rich in gamma-oryzanol, a compound from the unsaponifiable fraction, with antioxidant properties.* Our results suggest that gamma-oryzanol may modulate the immune system.*
Gamma Oryzanol is also reported to offer relief with certain digestive, menopausal and cardiovascular concerns.*
MG: The last featured ingredient that we'll discuss is Turmeric Extract. Its medicinal properties are attributed partly to its strong anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory characteristics.*
TM: Turmeric extract is a concentrated form of the natural spice which is simply a powdered form of the dried root. Turmeric Extract contains three molecular forms: the methoxy form, the demethoxy form and the bisdemethoxy form. The forms tested in the research articles mentioned below are usually a natural mixture of all three unless otherwise stated. Turmeric Extract is not toxic even at high doses, in laboratory animals, and has been in customary use by the people of India for centuries.
Turmeric extract has attracted the attention of researchers in the fields of memory dysfunctiion, joint support, serious immune concerns and some other areas.* Selections from recent research articles on the effects of turmeric extract on these types of health challenges are included below in the reference section.* Skim through the various research articles to get an idea of just what this powerful herb is capable of doing.*
MG: Tommy, thanks for that information on the amazing ingredients in CellRich, I have certainly gained a new respect for it. It's time to say goodnight.
TM: I know it's late; but if anyone would like to share a testimony please do.
TESTIMONIALS
TM:Thanks for sharing. Good night and remember, this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!
